Carolyn Ellis of Brilliance Mastery to Return to the 2018 ViVaCious Leaders Conference with Visual Notes
I’m so happy to announce that Carolyn Ellis of Brilliance Mastery will be joining us again in 2018 to provide her wonderful visual notes at the ViVaCious Leaders Conference!
In 2016, Carolyn spoke at the conference and shared insights with us on the power of visual note taking. In 2017, she WOW’d us by taking these visual notes in real time on large boards as each speaker presented.
Visual notetaking is a creative way to take notes using pictures, typography, lines, shapes, and doodles, with marker-and-paper or stylus-and-tablet. It is a method of learning that’s becoming more accepted and a tool now being used in many corporations to ensure problem solving teams are on the same page.
As Carolyn Ellis says, “If you can draw a problem, you can solve it. If you can not draw a problem, you don’t have enough information and you need to dig deeper.”
I first learned how to take visual notes when I attended Carolyn’s doodling workshop back in … well, let’s just say she’s been around doing this for a while ;)
It’s been a game changer for me. No more files and books of boring handwriting that I never re-read or absorb that’s for sure. When I started, my first concern was that I’m not artistic at all. But I soon realized you don’t need to be. You simply need to learn how to join a few dots and lines together as images that YOU can understand (after all, they’re your notes to read).
If you’re interested in learning how to create visual notes yourself, check out this wonderful “How To” book on Amazon by Michael Rohde – "The Sketchnote Handbook: The Illustrated Guide To Visual Note Taking".

Happy note taking!
Have a wonderfully ViVaCious week
