About Rona Maynard
Rona Maynard overcame chronic depression to reach the top of her field. As Editor at Chatelaine during the biggest relaunch in its history, Rona led the team that won a new generation of readers for a brand dating back to the Jazz Age. Her truth-telling editorials were carried in wallets and taped to fridge doors. Rona is proof that crazy-making moments can be powerful teachers and that grace is a habit any motivated person can learn. She is the author of an acclaimed memoir, My Mother’s Daughter, a mental health advocate and a passionate road tripper. She has a husband of forty-plus years who keeps her laughing and a dog who teaches her to live in the moment. She has been a Verity member since 2008. About Tammy Moore
Tammy Moore is the CEO of the ALS Society of Canada, a national health charity supporting people living with ALS and funding research to make ALS a treatable, not terminal disease. This position represents a significant change in career direction, but is the wonderful intersection between professional and passionate interest. Previously Tammy founded, and over two decades, led an agency providing communications, marketing and branding expertise to a diverse range of organizations in local, national and global markets. She has also worked with private equity groups during acquisition and restructuring as well as consulting with small and medium enterprise on a variety of business and succession issues.
With a commitment to giving back, Tammy has served in senior leadership roles on Boards for the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations, Women's Enterprise Centre for British Columbia, BC Cancer Foundation Advisory Council, Kelowna Art Gallery, Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo as well as a mentor for technology, innovation and organizations supporting entrepreneurship. An avid cyclist and competitive sailor, satisfies Tammy’s need for speed and serves to channel her competitive spirit.
